UPI, bank, cards
PlayExch supports deposits and withdrawals via UPI, bank transfer (NEFT / IMPS / RTGS), and cards (RuPay, Visa, Mastercard). The lab does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees.
UPI
UPI is the recommended rail for sub-₹2L transactions. Deposits clear instantly. Withdrawals clear within fifteen minutes during business hours and within four hours off-hours. Supported UPI apps: Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, and any UPI-enabled bank app.
Bank transfer
Bank transfers are recommended for transactions above ₹2L. IMPS clears within four hours. NEFT clears within二十四 hours. RTGS clears same-day for transfers above ₹2L. The receiving bank account must match the KYC-verified name.
Cards
Cards are supported for deposits only — not for withdrawals. RuPay, Visa, and Mastercard are accepted. Card deposits clear instantly. The lab does not store card numbers; tokens are stored with the payment processor.
Deposit limits
Minimum deposit: ₹100. Maximum deposit: ₹2,00,000 per transaction, ₹10,00,000 per day. Higher limits apply to KYC-verified accounts. The lab publishes the live limits in the wallet screen.
PAN + Aadhaar, that's the base
KYC verification requires PAN + Aadhaar (or PAN + Voter ID). The documents are submitted through the in-app KYC flow. Verification completes within twenty-four hours for straightforward submissions.
PAN card
A PAN card is required for every KYC submission. The PAN must be linked to a valid Indian mobile number or email. The PAN number is hashed and stored; the lab does not retain the PAN image after verification.
Aadhaar
An Aadhaar card is the standard address proof. The Aadhaar must be linked to the same mobile number used at signup. The lab accepts masked Aadhaar (only the last four digits visible).
Voter ID (alternative)
If Aadhaar is unavailable, a Voter ID is accepted as address proof. The Voter ID must show the same name as the PAN. Voter ID verification completes within forty-eight hours.
Passport (alternative)
A passport is accepted as both identity and address proof. Passport verification is the fastest path — the document is machine-readable. Verification completes within four hours.
How the lab withholds tax
The lab withholds tax at source (TDS) on net winnings above ₹10,000 in a financial year, per Indian income-tax rules. The TDS rate is 30% (plus applicable cess and surcharge).
Wallet & KYC questions, answered
The most common questions about wallet & kyc on PlayExch, with detailed answers.
When is KYC required?
KYC is required for withdrawals above ₹10,000 cumulative. Deposits under ₹10,000 cumulative do not require KYC. The lab encourages early KYC verification to avoid delays on larger withdrawals.
What documents do I need?
PAN + Aadhaar (or PAN + Voter ID, or PAN + Passport). The PAN must match the name on the address proof. Documents are submitted through the in-app KYC flow.
How long does KYC take?
Straightforward submissions verify within twenty-four hours. Edge cases — name mismatch, document quality — take up to forty-eight hours. Manual review escalations take up to seventy-two hours.
Is there a deposit fee?
No. The lab does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees. UPI and bank transfers are free. Cards are free for deposits. Third-party payment processors may charge their own fees; the lab does not control those.
Can I withdraw without KYC?
Yes, up to ₹10,000 cumulative. Above ₹10,000, KYC is required. The lab sends reminders as the cumulative total approaches the threshold.

The lab's payment-rail architecture
How the lab processes deposits and withdrawals, the security layers, and the latency benchmarks.
Payment-rail architecture
The lab uses a multi-rail payment architecture. Deposits are routed through the fastest available rail — UPI for sub-₹2L, IMPS for ₹2L-₹5L, RTGS for above ₹5L. Withdrawals follow the same routing logic. The architecture is published on the methodology page.
Security layers
Every transaction passes through three security layers: device fingerprinting, IP geolocation, and velocity checks. Flagged transactions are held for manual review. The review queue is cleared within four hours during business hours.
Latency benchmarks
UPI deposit latency: under 5 seconds. UPI withdrawal latency: 15 minutes median during business hours, 4 hours off-hours. IMPS withdrawal latency: 4 hours median. NEFT withdrawal latency: 24 hours median. The benchmarks are published monthly.
Failure recovery
If a UPI withdrawal fails, the amount is credited back to the wallet within 2 hours. The user can re-initiate the withdrawal to a different account. Failed IMPS and NEFT withdrawals are escalated to the payment processor within 1 hour.

Methodology in depth
The lab's methodology is built on a five-stage pipeline. Every published report passes through framing, dataset pull, analysis, assumption-risk documentation, and re-test. The pipeline is published in full on the methodology page. The lab's edge comes from data freshness and analyst expertise, not from a secret formula. Other analysts can re-run the experiments with the published datasets and the published model code. The lab publishes every dataset version and every model version. Data sources in depth
The lab pulls data from four primary sources. Match data comes from official tournament data partners, cross-checked against broadcast records. Ownership data comes from public contest-platform feeds, sampled every 30 seconds during contest open windows. Contest result archives come from publicly published leaderboards. Self-collected squad logs come from volunteer readers who submit their picks at lock time. Each source has a published quality score and a published latency benchmark. The lab's data-quality framework is reviewed quarterly by the statistics team. The lab pulls data from four primary sources This is why the wallet test desk treats it as a baseline. Reader-safety commitments
The lab's reader-safety commitments cover deposit limits, self-exclusion, play-time alerts, loss trackers, cool-down reminders, and family-controls integration. The lab publishes the safety commitments on the responsible-play page. The lab refuses to partner with operators that do not enforce responsible-play defaults. Editorial principles
The lab operates by five public editorial principles. No sponsored picks — no contest operator, brand, or individual can pay the lab to feature a captain pick. Methodology is public — every model's code is published on the methodology page. Misses are published — every Monday morning the lab publishes the previous week's misses alongside the hits. Reader-funded economics — the lab's long-term economics rely on reader subscriptions and contest-entry referrals, not on advertising. Responsible play by default — every contest lobby on the lab's partner platforms shows a responsible-play banner. The lab operates by five public editorial principles This is why the wallet test desk treats it as a baseline. Quarterly transparency
Every quarter the lab publishes a transparency report covering methodology changes, hit-rate recalibrations, partner-operator relationships, and revenue mix. The report is published on the 15th of the month following quarter end. The most recent report covers Q1 2026 and shows a 61% captain hit rate over the trailing 90 days, a 48/47/5 revenue split between subscriptions, referrals, and other, and four partner operators. The report is available on the disclosure page.Every quarter the lab publishes a transparency report covering methodology changes, hit-rate recalibrations, partner-operator relationships, and revenue mix This is why the wallet test desk treats it as a baseline.
